Indoor Air Quality Assessments
I can work with you to find things in your home that may be making your children or family sick and suggest an action plan filled with low- and no-cost solutions to make your home a healthy place.
Many people can benefit from a Home Health Assessment:
- People with asthma, allergies, or respiratory illness that seems worse at home.
- Families with young children who may be exposed to household chemicals, lead, pesticides, dust mites and other allergens.
- People who have recently moved into a new apartment or house and are experiencing more headaches or respiratory problems.
I have been trained by the Master Home Environmentalist© (MHE) program of the American Lung Association® in Washington to help identify health hazards in your home using the Home Environmental Assessment List (HEAL™). As a MHE volunteer, I would come to your home and go through a questionnaire with you before looking at different problem areas. There may be things you can see, like mold and mildew, and there may be things you cannot see that I can help you identify. The two of us then develop an action plan and prioritize steps you can take to create a healthier home environment, with an emphasis on low- and/or no-cost solutions. No testing or cleaning is done by the MHE volunteer.
